Scientific evidence that the religion is true... did Jesus teach that we should depend on it?

It's true because the Bible tells me so?

But Jesus taught: ';You will know them by their fruits.';

So what do you think? Doesn't this mean that scientific verification of the benefits of religion would be helpful and even a requirement, so that a person could have some confidence that the fruits are good?

More context on my biography concerning the difference between popular theology and what Jesus was actually preaching.Scientific evidence that the religion is true... did Jesus teach that we should depend on it?
Sebastian, an apple grower, and that is the point. The Bible says that you will know Christians by their fruits, meaning that what they produce will identify them. If they constantly stir up trouble, mistrust and hatred, then their poisonous fruits are not of the Christian tree. True Christians are producing love, charity and good will. They are not involved in politics or social change, screaming at the school board or picketing clinics. They are, instead, feeding the hungry, healing the sick (by the usual medical means), operating thrift shops and elderly transport programs, teaching the illiterate to read and spending a quiet hour of prayer. Do not judge us by what you see on the news. Real Christians rarely make the news.Scientific evidence that the religion is true... did Jesus teach that we should depend on it?
Sadly yes people ctually believe the bible because the bible says to believe in the bible and they have no problem with that logic at all.

When science supports their beliefs fine, they use it. But if science contradicts what they believe they reject it and call it Satan trying to trick us with the words of men. Sometimes in history it has gotten so hard for religions to hold the line that they have given in and accepted, for instance that the world is a globe, a sphere. They use the same scripture they used to use to prove that the world was flat ('circle of the earth describes a flat circle not a sphere) to sell that the world is a sphere.

They use scienific evidence when it is convenient, so sure, they would gobble up all that evidence that their religion is true.
How many people truely understand the science of Evolution, Big Bang, String and other theories? Only a fraction really of believers compared to many whom put faith in such teachings and not really know the science behind it so they can prove it to themselves.

How can likewise someone put faith in the Bible and God yet not truely understand the teachings they give?

To have true faith you need to have accurate knowledge. As a student of the Bible I have my faith on a rock mass that can stand up to opposition because I know what is right.

The Bible has never let me down rather it has amazed me with it's accuracy and wisdom everytime. But my faith is through continueous study.
There's plenty of evidence. Here's just one small source of it for you to peruse at your leisure.

If it could be shown to you through solid and persuasive evidence that God created the universe and everything in it, would you believe it?

Featuring an impressive cast of world-class scientists and scholars, Foolish Faith exposes the failure of mainstream science to answer the ever-present question of where we came from 鈥?unveiling a surprising store of controversial facts that support the existence of God, but are largely ignored by the media.

Beginning with a fast-paced trail through the origins of the world鈥檚 major religions, followed by a provoking pursuit through the reasoning of modern science, this book鈥檚 easy-to-understand arguments will bring you face-to-face with seven tremendous facts that will propel you to rediscover the truth about God鈥檚 place in the world today.

This scripture was a warning from Jesus to his disciples to be on guard for people or groups claiming to represent God. Just like their are many religions today that claim to represent God, yet their ';fruits'; clearly prove otherwise. (i.e. their teachers are proven child molesters.) From God鈥檚 standpoint, a religion鈥檚 acceptability is not based on just one factor. For a religion to be acceptable to him, its teachings and activities must conform to his written Word of truth, the Bible.

What has the so called science in the Bible done for mankind?

Imagine if there had been a commandment ';wash your hands before eating'; - think how that would have helped mankind.
Basic rule of science: you don't start out with saying ';X is true'; and then try to find evidence to support your statement - confirmation bias errors abound there. You collect evidence/observations and then look at it, maybe try to build a model of it.
There is absolutely no contemporary historical evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed.

None.
there is no scientific evidence
Isn't God's word good enough for you?

Are you suggesting God is a liar?
';You will know them by their fruits.';

I grow apples, what am I?
