Yep; born a Jew, lived as a Jew, died a Jew. Jesus came from a typically fairly large Jewish family. He would have read the Tanakh, the original Jewish scriptures that we as Jews still follow today.





To answer the second part of your query: we don't really feel anything about it. We are aware, of course, that our Christian friends worship Jesus and that he is the central part of Christianity. For us, though, he was just one of many would-be maschiachs who died before fulfilling our 23 prophecies.





Historically, of course, we have suffered by those who have persecuted us in the name OF Jesus - absurd, when you consider that Jesus was Jewish. But I believe today Jews and Christians have a far better understanding of each other - and it's important that we do.





Judaism teaches that ALL humans are equally G-d's children. So we respect all people, no matter which faith they do or don't choose to follow. We believe ALL righteous souls will reach 'heaven'.

I must correct another answerer. No Jews think that 'jesus tried to bring down judaism'. That is absurd. Jesus TAUGHT basic Judaism - where do you think 'love thy neighbour' comes from? THE TORAH.

the Jews prayed for their Messiah to come. being stubborn and caught up in rituals, they didnt recognize their own Messiah and crucified the One who came to save them. they thought that God would come in divine form, powerful and great. instead, He came humble, meek and for one purpose: the redemption of humanity. the Jewish preists could not accept this, and the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled when they condemned Him to crucifixion.

It's the Christian view (that of SOME Christians, not all) that is the difficulty. Other than that, Judaism doesn't have any feelings about Jesus being Jewish, nor about Christianity. It's another faith, and we respect it for that. Full stop.

Jesus was definitely a Jew. I think Jews in general think that Christianity falsely claimed that an ordinary man was really God.
The historic Jesus was definitely a Jew, but if the Bible is right and Jesus is God, then I don't really see how Christians can worship the Jewish God.

Jesus was, at this same time, in line for a better kingdom, the Kingdom of Jehovah God, John 18:33-38.





If we accept Jesus, as King of God's Kingdom, we can have everlasting life in peaceful conditions.
