Now i know that i am going to receive massive amounts of ';NO JESUS WAS WHITE';. But it is known widely that jesus was not caucasian, im wondering how many people believe this, seeing as in America, Jesus is portrayed as a white man with blue eyes. (which isn't possible by the way).
racist, bigot or offensive answers will be reported. Is it true that Jesus was of a darker skin tone?
Very true. When the Discovery Channel did their special on Jesus they did a mock up of what he would have looked like - like any other middle eastern man found alive today.
As for why Jesus is blonde/brunett with blue eyes simple look at the countries that have pushed Christianity and the people who were in power - Caucasian men. Is it true that Jesus was of a darker skin tone?
He was a Jew and they varied in skin tones. This was left out of the Bible because it is irrelevant. When the Catholic church as well as others depict him as Euro-centric looking, it just perpetuates feelings of superiority on their part and that darker skinned people are cursed. Which they are not. '; God made out of one man, every NATION of men';.
He came from the tribes of Judah in Israel when you trace back His Geneology it goes back to David (Matthew 1) He is one of the children of Israel and God at the same time by the way. So this means He would have had olive colored skin like most mediteranean people.
1) Darker than WHAT?
2) ';Caucasian'; and ';white'; are not scientific terms, so I have no idea how you are defining them.
3) Jesus is portrayed many different ways in America. There is no official American portrayal of Jesus.

4) Jesus was born not far from where blue eyes originated, so it IS possible:
';The first blue eyed person was probably born near the Black Sea just 10,000 years ago when the entire population of the world was less than 50,000. Those mutant genes spread on a wave of human migration.';

Yes it does matter. Jesus was not white, he was from the Middle East where people have dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes. I don't know how the white Jesus thing got started, but I think people are smarter now and realize they have been lied to.
Jesus was born in the Middle East in Bethlehem, which is now in Israel.
Most people living in the Middle East are dark-skinned and were two thousand years ago. So yes, it is entirely possible that Jesus was dark-skinned.
Check out this link.

I think He was Middle Eastern seeing as how he and his parents were born in the Middle East and that the descendants of theirs were Middle Eastern as well. People who believe Jesus was white are pretty ignorant.
Jesus was Jewish. So as an American, I disagree with the ';white'; Jesus portrayal. I'm sure you already know how he was a Jew and what a Jewish person in those days, being in Israel would look like.
He was actually purple...

What!? Jesus wasn't a white man who spoke the King James English!? :-)
Jesus was a Middle Eastern man. Look at them to get a better idea of what Jesus probably looked like.
Who gives a shyt? If he was real, he was probably the same color as everyone else around there.
No, Jesus was jewish, most likely dark skinned (middle eastern) with dark hair and dark eyes...
Only racists deny it
I imagine He looked Middle Eastern.
Really, though, does it matter?
yes, it's true. Jesus wasn't white
