No.Is the movie the Davinci Code true about Jesus and the Bible?
The movie was made from a book of FICTION written by Dan Brown.
No, Even Dan Brown says it is fiction. It is a work of his imagination. What creates controversy is that he uses historical names and places to create his fiction. Yes, Jesus existed. Yes there was a Council of Nicea. Yes, Paris is in France. But the neither the book nor the movie are historical.
And it is known that Jesus was not married, that he was a celibate. All those at the time writing cooberate that fact, and many in the centuries following.
And gnostic gospels? Gnostic is based on the Greek word for for knowing or to know. Gnostic gospels teach that man can save himself, and this is done by reason. Not everyone is smart enough to do this, but those that can by achieving special knowledge may gain access to salvation. This is an esoteric idea: salvation is not for all. It is also egotistical: I don't need God, or a savior, I can do it myself.
That is not to say the gnosticism denies the existence of God or Jesus, it simply denies that God or Jesus is necessary for salvation.
Peace be with you.
Yes, everything in the movie is true.
Believe it. See this movie many times.
Tom Hanks is very rich.
Ron Howard is rich too.
Make them richer.
Nah. Just a work of trashy fiction. You'd have to be really, really paranoid to believe that kinda thing was true.
no it is not.
it is a work of fiction
';Truth'; is a tricky word to use here...........
Who can say what's the truth about Christ??
Can you give answers to the questions that are raised in the book ? If you have to say you don't know, then what is true?? Please don't tell me you blindly follow the bible (or am I wrong to think that this is also a book; if it had been written with styles used today, it would certainly resemble many of the soap series...... but you have know what's in the bible of course -and have an open mind- if you are someone who is not willing to listen to other ideas (as stated in the Davincicode) please don't try and find out what's ';true'; or not; you might not like what you find out...............
And in the end of the day; don't take life toooo serious; just enjoy reading and watchting The Davinci code!!
Cheers,
Laurens.
if you believe everything in the movie is true then you are a moron.
I dont believe in that, and I also do not believe in the Bible.
You will have to watch the movie and read the books. Then, draw your own conclusions.
The Da Vinci Code is a fictional novel, but an interesting one nonetheless. It manages to stir up some intriguing questions and interesting thoughts on the subject.
It takes some liberties with the interpretation of history and art, but the novel mentions towards the beginning that the organizations and practices do exist and that certain historical events (The Council of Nicaea, for example) did occur.
We cannot go back in time and know for sure if Jesus was married, if his wife was Mary, or if he had children. Either way, it would take some digging to find definite answers (if certainty is possible with this topic).
One of my friends, who got really into the story recommended the Gnostic Bible (which goes more in-depth in discussing Mary Magdalen) and her relationship with Jesus.
