my youth pastor says that when it says in the bible ';if ye believe in christ, then ye be of abraham's seed'; and when jesus says ';think not that I came for the jews, but for the lost sheep of the nation of israel'; that it means that white people are the true israelites, not jews, and he says it was a mistake to convert others. however, my mom says he's wrong and so do the church elders ... who is right? Is it true that jesus only wanted white people to be christian?
They were also to ';separate themselves unto the Lord.'; -- Lev. 6:22 .';Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord.'; -- 2 Chron. 6:17. ';For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.'; -- Deu. 7:6. ';For thou art an holy people unto Yahweh thy God; Yahweh, the LORD thy God, hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are on the face of the earth.'; -- Deu. 14:2. ';And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.';-Deu. 26:19. ';The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.'; -- Deu. 28:9. ';But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people,'; -- 1 Peter 2:9.Is it true that jesus only wanted white people to be christian?
Jesus only wanted Jews to follow him, at first. However, throughout the course of his three-year ministry, Gentiles proved their faith in him, sometimes beyond the faith of the Jewish people. He then decided to include all people.
In Paul's letter to the Galatians, he describes this change:
';There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.'; - Galatians 3:28
The verse you quoted is backwards. Jesus said he did not come for the gentiles, but for the ';lost sheep of Israel'; The lost sheep are the Jewish people, lost spiritually, caught up in ritual more than faith. He came to repair that.
umm i disagree with your youth pastor
i pretty sure God want us ALLLL to be christian
christianity has nothing to do with the color of your skin
our were you came from
our your racial backround
in the bible it says
john 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
i dont see anything about being white in there
He's wrong, and if he keeps teaching things like that he will get fired. Listen to your mom and the church leadership on this one.
everyone is a human regardless of your skin color, and everyone has the potential to be divine.
Jesus was preaching to and for the Jews, Paul brought Christianity to everyone else.
He told his disciples to go into all the world and tell everyone the gospel message, not just whites, so....
Edit:
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Jesus is not a racist. Salvation is for anyone who truly wants it.
jesus wasn't even white himself. he lived in the middle east. that's not where white people live.
I don't think God gives a hang about a person's skin pigmentation.
Jesus was not white
It is absoltuly true, thats why Blacks were enslaved with the blessing of the church.
