answer mine
go to my page and go to my questions
please!Is it true that Jesus was a wine drinker and at weddings would occasionally make some home brew?
Well kind of. They drank a different type of wine it was thick and cut with water. You would get sick on it before you would get drunk. They would also drink new wine which was fresh grape juice not fermented if you drink enough of it it will ferment in your intestines and you'll be on a three day drunk! This was what they were talking about in acts chapter 2
Acts 2:13-15, ';Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.';
The third hour of the day was about 9:00 AM that was not time enough for new wine to ferment and them to be drunk with new wine. The wine that was fermented was cut with water to purify the water.
1 Timothy 5:23, ';Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.';
This could also be like a grape jelly they would take the jelly add water to it and make grape juice! For the most part the wine the Jews made was not the type you would drink to get drunk on.Is it true that Jesus was a wine drinker and at weddings would occasionally make some home brew?
Everyone darnk wine back then, but there is something that you have to understand. They didn't leave their wine out to rot like we do nowadays, and they also didn't put ANY alcohol in their wine either. Those methods weren't invented until much later. So from what we can understand, in our terms today they were drinking grape juice.
Hmmmm......I guess you can say it like that. John 2:1 (Amplified Bible) 1ON THE third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2Jesus also was invited with His disciples to the wedding.
3And when the wine was all gone, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no more wine!
4Jesus said to her, [[a]Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.] My time (hour to act) has not yet come.
5His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it.
6Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece.
7Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim.
8Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet]. So they took him some.
9And when the manager tasted the water just now turned into wine, not knowing where it came from--though the servants who had drawn the water knew--he called the bridegroom
10And said to him, Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now!
11This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonderworks), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory [by it He displayed His greatness and His power openly], and His disciples believed in Him [adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him].
Yes, Jesus drank wine.
No, He did not ';occasionally make some home brew.';
There is Only one recorded instance where He turned water into wine. There are no recorded instances where He made ';some home brew.';
So, your attempt at disrespect turned out to be a crude falsity. And, your attempt at humor fell flat. It was not even near funny.
Go in peace.
And, always remember: -- Jesus loves you!!
Sincerely,
Uncle Floyd
There is no record that he ever tasted the wine he miraculously produced, and ';Wine'; in most of the translations was just grape juice non-fermented.
Yes, He drank wine.
No, He only turned water into wine once.
probably cause around that time beer was safer than water and they had lots of wine...
he probably had more than wine
I am not as thinkest as thou drunkest I am
Yes.
